TRADITIONAL

This is an enduring style that seems always to be, in some form, in current acceptance. Most of what's referred to as traditional today, roots back to the 18th century American adaptations of European styles, skewed toward English architecture and cabinet making of that era. Wood furniture pieces of this period are still generally crafted from the once abundant rich cherry and mahogany hardwoods. Upholstered pieces are often covered in damasks, silks, or jacquards. Except for Spanish or Spanish Colonial, traditional can be a tasteful look for almost any home of pre twentieth century architecture.
